ArteSanae Collection Mandala "METATRON"
The Metatron's Cube represents the manifestation of Divinity or its Will within matter. It is structured by complex three-dimensional geometric shapes and considered a map of Creation.
It takes its name from the Archangel Metatron, although it is present in many ancient mysteries, including Egyptian mythology, ancient Jewish teachings, and alchemy. It is primordial and very powerful.
Composed of thirteen circles of the same size, along with lines extending from the center of each circle to the center of the others, it contains within its framework all the geometric shapes of physical matter, known as the "5 perfect solids" or "Platonic solids." Plato (427/8 - 357 BC) was the first to study these solids and relate the spiritual world to the physical elements of the Earth. However, their first appearance dates back to 2000 BC in a Neolithic excavation in Scotland, where archaeologists found these 5 polyhedra carved in stone.
Metatron's Cube is composed of these five key sacred shapes: Cube: representing the element of Earth. Tetrahedron: representing the element of Fire. Octahedron: representing the element of Air. Icosahedron: representing the element of Water. Dodecahedron: associated with ether, a unique element of the heavens or space.
The uniqueness of these solids is that in each of them, all faces have equal side length, equal face size, and equal angles; no other solids meet all these required properties, i.e., convexity and regularity.
Spheres represent Feminine Energy, while straight lines represent Masculine Energy. Therefore, Metatron's Cube represents the union of the Masculine Principle with the Feminine, which together create the Source of Infinite Life, or the principle of Unity, of the Whole.
Inside its structure, we find the Merkaba, another sacred symbol composed of 2 intersecting tetrahedra that, metaphysically, rotate in opposite directions like opposing poles, creating a three-dimensional energy field.
The word Mer-Ka-Ba consists of three words: Mer, Ka, and Ba, which originate from ancient Egypt.
Mer refers to a specific type of light known in Egypt during the 18th Dynasty after the shift toward the worship of a single God of all creation.
Ka refers to an individual's spirit. Ba refers to the interpretation of the spirit's particular reality. In human reality,
Ba is generally defined as the body or physical reality. Together, these three words connote the union of spirit with the body, surrounded by light.
All these symbols have roots in ancient traditions or religions and are revered designs for various purposes. Each has its own history and concept. Generally, these symbols focus on personal development, achieving inner peace, and connecting with higher forms of consciousness.
The meaning of Metatron's Cube has been studied from different perspectives, ranging from the physical and energetic to the metaphysical and spiritual.
One of the principles of sacred geometry is found in the Hermetic maxim "as above, so below" and also in "that which is in the small world, the microcosm, reflects what is in the great world or macrocosm." This principle of correspondence is the foundation of all esoteric sciences, where the forms of the manifested universe are reflected in the body and constitution of man.
"The Metatron's star helps us understand how the harmony and balance of nature work," writes VanDen Eynden in "Metatron." Since it represents balance in all six directions represented within it. Metatron's Cube can be used as a visual focal point to connect with the archangel and as a tool to aid concentration for meditations that promote peace and balance.
Exploring the knowledge of Sacred Geometry is to discover the invisible hand behind all creation; life is generated and expressed in patterns, symbols, and geometric shapes.
